The Carol Sessions 2001

Not strictly part of the Grenoside Sword Tradition but closely associated.
Ray our fiddler has been recreating a past tradition of a string quartet leading the singing of local carols,
this year in the 'Top' Red Lion at Grenoside.

The quartet augmented to five! Regular fiddlers Ray on the left, and Roy Denton on the right. Ann Wyatt on cello and Jeff Tiler on bass.

Back Lane in full swing. On the left on fiddle is Aukje Delnooz , standing in for Howard Swindells .

Enthusiastic (in some cases!) audience. Regulars Terry and Gordon in the centre and carols 'guru' Ian Russell on the left.

Ray lays into Stannington.
